Whiteout Survival Crazy Joe Guide
Whiteout Survival Experts Guide
Experts officially launched in Whiteout Survival as of August 2025!
Be prepared for a large update — around 15GB on both the App Store and Play Store — so it’s best to download while connected to WiFi. To unlock Experts the verdict is out on when it releases but know you have to be F25 so this means this could be middle of the server timeline.
You have two paths to begin your Expert journey:
Tundra Trek — designed for free-to-play (F2P) players; it’s a longer grind but fully accessible without spending.
Frontier Trek — aimed at pay-to-play (P2P) players; unlock Experts faster and progress more quickly.
The main goal is to unlock Experts and level up their Skills, which will support and boost your Heroes — they don’t replace Heroes but enhance them. Based on current Skill effects, Experts lean towards being a pay-to-win feature, meaning F2P players will face a longer grind to catch up.
SVS Changes Introduced by Experts
Don’t upgrade your Expert Skills immediately. Instead, hold off until SVS or King of Icefield events, as the best rewards come on Day 2 and Day 3.
Make sure to save your Expert Sigils and Books of Knowledge for those days to maximize their impact. The other days don’t offer significant changes to SVS gameplay.
Pro Tip: Delay upgrading your Expert Skills until SVS. Feel free to take avantage of the Gifting option when it becomes available, as we don't know of additional benefits for events.

Tundra Trek
Your Expert journey begins with Tundra Trek — the primary way to unlock new Experts, deepen their Affinity, and gather rewards or upgrade materials.
As you travel through the Trek, you’ll face a variety of encounters, meet both Heroes and Experts, and uncover their unique stories. Completing an Expert’s story and raising their Affinity high enough allows you to invite them to your city, where their Skills can be put to use.
Trek Supplies — Your Energy System
Progressing through the Tundra Trek requires Trek Supplies, which you can earn in several ways:
Daily reset: Receive 20 Trek Supplies each day at 00:00 UTC.
Timed claims: Collect 10 Trek Supplies at 08:00 UTC and another 10 at 16:00 UTC.
Gem purchase option: You can buy 5 Trek Supplies for 1,000 Gems, up to 4 times daily.
⚠️ Not recommended for F2P players — spending 4,000 Gems per day for extra attempts is costly.
What to Expect on the Trek
The Tundra Trek offers a mix of activities:
Combat encounters
Story-driven interactions
Character cameos from Heroes and Experts
Special rewards and upgrade items
By steadily progressing and managing your Trek Supplies wisely, you’ll unlock more Experts and strengthen their abilities over time.
Dawn Academy
After recruiting your first Expert, you’ll gain access to a new building — the Dawn Academy. This becomes the central hub where your Experts reside and train.
Each time you unlock an additional Expert, the Academy expands, opening a dedicated room for them to settle into and call their own.
Learning Experts’ Skills
Every Expert comes with five unique Skills:
Four Skills can be unlocked and upgraded by raising the Expert’s Relationship Level and then enhancing them in the Dawn Academy using Books of Knowledge.
One Skill improves automatically as your Relationship Level increases — no extra upgrades required.
You can speed up the skill-learning process with the new Learning Speedups, or use General Speedups if you have them available.
Increasing Affinity & Relationship Levels
Upgrading Experts works much like leveling up Pets:
Level them up through Affinity gains.
Advance them at set thresholds to unlock more potential.
Affinity is raised by donating specific items to an Expert. As Affinity climbs, you’ll unlock:
Stat bonuses
Higher-level Skills
When you reach certain Affinity milestones, you’ll progress your Relationship Level with that Expert.
Advancing Relationships
To Advance a Relationship, you’ll need Sigils — special items that work much like Hero Shards.
Common Sigils can be traded for any specific Expert’s Sigils.
Each Expert has 100 Relationship Levels, divided into 10 Advancement thresholds.
Reaching each threshold grants stronger bonuses, deeper skill upgrades, and more impactful contributions from your Expert.
Experts' Progression Path — Whiteout Survival

Experts in Whiteout Survival Guide
As of Aug 2025 there are 4 Experts.
- Cyrille, Bear Huntress
- Agnes, Elite Politician
- Holger, Arena Legend
- Romulus, Military Advisor
Cyrille, Bear Huntress Expert
Cyrille is built almost entirely for Bear Hunt, and their kit is straightforward but highly impactful. Gaining 5 extra Essence Stones and 500 Hero Gear XP every two days provides a steady boost toward Hero Gear upgrades, making long-term progression much easier.
The combination of increased Rally Capacity, higher Troop Deployment Capacity, and extra Damage allows players to hit higher damage milestones, which means more personal rewards each Bear Hunt and better chances at top-tier Achievement rewards.
Overall, Cyrille is an excellent Expert to invest in for any player aiming to maximize Bear Hunt performance.
Tip: If your alliance enforces a troop cap for rally participation, the Ursa’s Bane skill (Troop Deployment Capacity increase) may be less valuable for you, so consider prioritizing other upgrades first.
Cryille's Skills
Hunter’s Heart
Cyrille’s unmatched bear-hunting expertise boosts her own Bear Hunt Damage Points by 30%, making her a personal damage powerhouse.
Entrapment
With masterful rally coordination, Cyrille can draw far more hunters to the fight, increasing Bear Hunt Rally Capacity by 300,000.
Scavenging
Nothing goes to waste under Cyrille’s watch — her efficiency grants five 100-Enhancement XP rewards after every Bear Hunt.
Weapon Master
Cyrille’s hero gear expertise ensures greater returns, increasing Elements adminssence Stone rewards from Bear Hunt by 5.
Ursa’s Bane
Through precise leadership, Cyrille raises Bear Hunt Troop Deployment Capacity by 30,000, enabling larger, more effective marches.

Agnes, Elite Politician Expert
Agnes is a versatile, economy-focused Expert designed to give steady value across multiple areas of gameplay.
Her first perk comes from Seeker Chests, which drop as a bonus while gathering resources. Even without knowing the exact loot table at the time of writing, it’s essentially free rewards for something you’d be doing anyway — and free is always a good start.
The next big benefit is +8 Intel missions per day. After the recent Lighthouse revamp, reaching Furnace Level 30 and entering the Fire Crystal Age makes Intel missions a prime source of upgrade materials. More missions directly means more rewards. However, more missions also mean higher stamina costs — which Agnes solves with Optimization, boosting the stamina gain from Patrick’s cans by 40, translating to an extra 80 stamina daily.
Project Management is perhaps her weakest skill in the long term, but still valuable. It grants a free 8-hour Speedup for any construction. For Fire Crystal buildings (with their five construction stages), that’s a 40-hour free build time on a single structure. This is most useful for newer servers steadily unlocking Experts, while older servers with little left to build may see less benefit. One small downside: automatic application might “steal” 8 hours of speedup points you’d normally save for event scoring in things like SVS Prep.
Finally, Covert Knowledge may be her strongest asset — more than doubling Mystery Badge acquisition. Since these are notoriously slow to farm, the boost is huge. Coupled with four free daily refreshes for the Mystery Merchant, you’ll see discounted and free deals far more often.
From a long-term economy perspective, it’s tough to crown a single winner between Agnes and Cyrille — the best move might simply be to invest in both.
Agnes' Skills
Earthbreaker
With her advanced drill machinery, Agnes can uncover valuable finds hidden near resource sites. Generates 5 Seeker Chests every 120 minutes of gathering (up to 30 per day).
Efficient Recon
A master strategist in Lighthouse operations, Agnes provides 8 additional Intel missions daily, ensuring more opportunities for rewards.
Optimization
Through improved production methods, Agnes increases the Storehouse Chief’s stamina gain from Patrick’s cans by 40, giving you more activity fuel each day.
Project Management
An expert in organized construction, Agnes automatically reduces build times by 8 hours on every new project started.
Covert Knowledge
Drawing from ancient wisdom, Agnes grants +120 Mystery Badges upon completing daily missions and 4 extra free refreshes for the Mystery Merchant, boosting your chances at rare bargains.

Holger, Arena Legend Expert
Arena is a major pillar of Whiteout Survival, so having an Expert dedicated solely to it is a big advantage. However, Holger’s skills lean heavily into direct stat boosts for your Heroes, which feels a bit pay-to-win — though, let’s be honest, Arena was already a competitive space with pay-to-win elements.
For context, any piece of Legendary (red) gear adds roughly 22.5% stat increases for Arena, so Holger effectively acts like an additional gear set for your Heroes. Some of his skill descriptions are confusingly worded, making it tricky to fully grasp their effects. For example, one skill seems to boost the Heroes themselves and possibly their Escorts as well, but the exact mechanics aren’t totally clear.
Blade Dancing is another skill with mixed explanations online. Ultimately, it appears to grant a chance for extra Arena Star Chests — presumably the rewards you get after matches. Some descriptions mention “Arena Stars,” which initially made me think it might grant extra stars per victory, potentially impacting ladder rankings. That would be a huge balance concern if true, so hopefully it just boosts reward drops rather than affecting rank directly.
On the other hand, Crowd Pleaser is outright powerful. More Arena Tokens are always welcome. Many players spend Gems to climb ranks just to earn more tokens, so Holger’s ability to increase token gains by up to 50% is fantastic. Even if you never break into the top 500, this skill accelerates how fast you accumulate Arena Tokens, helping you get more Mythic Hero Gear Chests or Mithril faster.
The Arena Star skill sounds great on paper but may be less useful in practice, especially for free-to-play players. While Crowd Pleaser helps build tokens, most average players likely won’t have enough tokens to diversify their shop purchases beyond Mythic Hero Gear Chests or Mithril. That said, high-ranking players with spare tokens will appreciate being able to buy a wider range of items.
Overall, Holger seems like a very strong Expert — even if you focus solely on maximizing Crowd Pleaser, he offers real value for Arena-focused players.
Holger's Skills
Blade Dancing
Holger’s crowd-pleasing moves guarantee you 3 Arena Star Chests after every win, ensuring you never miss out on audience rewards.
Arena Elite
Through intense training, Holger boosts the Attack and Health of Arena Heroes by 20%, sharpening their edge in battle.
Crowd Pleaser
Holger knows how to dazzle the crowd — his heroes earn 50% more Arena Tokens daily and weekly, significantly increasing your token haul.
Arena Star
As an Arena ace, Holger grants Chiefs and Heroes access to 3 additional discounted items in the Arena Shop, all at a generous 50% off.
Legacy
Holger’s influence extends to the next generation, providing future Heroes with a 20% boost to Attack and Health, helping to create true Arena legends.

Romulus, Military Advisor Expert
Romulus is currently the newest and highest-level Expert, with some of the most powerful skills in the game. While it’s not yet clear if maxing him out will require more resources than others, it’s a safe bet that his total upgrade cost will be higher due to the strength of his abilities.
Romulus clearly fills the role of a PvP Specialist, based on his skillset. However, it’s uncertain whether his stat boosts stack additively or multiplicatively like Hero Widgets do. If the latter is true, his bonuses would strongly favor spenders, as a 10% boost alone wouldn’t justify the heavy investment otherwise.
One notable terminology choice is calling Troop Deployment Capacity “Expedition Army Size.” Regardless of the name, the extra 10,000 troops is a valuable boost, benefiting not only PvP battles and events like SVS, Frostdragon Tyrant, and Foundry but also many Alliance and solo challenges such as Bear Hunt, Mercenaries, Crazy Joe, and Frostfire Mine. More deployment capacity is always advantageous.
The Increased Rally Capacity complements this but is primarily valuable for Rally Leaders within your Alliance rather than every individual player.
Call to War is an intriguing skill but somewhat unclear. It’s not specified whether the “any” refers to a single camp (600 troops) or all three camps combined (1,800 troops). The numbers aren’t very large, and since you need to max the skill for full benefit, most players probably won’t prioritize it. However, it could help you rebuild troop numbers faster after losses or during heavy PvP activity.
The skill also grants 10 Loyalty Tags daily, which could be extremely powerful if literal—10 tags are roughly worth 10,000 Gems. If so, this would ease the burden of losing troops and provide some protection against griefing by allowing you to accumulate tags steadily. This means if someone wipes your troops, you won’t have to wait a month for them to come out of Enlistment.
Overall, Romulus seems tailored primarily for spenders. Free-to-play players have little reason to focus on him over other Experts, especially since upgrade materials will be scarce without paying. That said, investing modestly in his early levels to gain some Troop Deployment Capacity could still be worthwhile.
