WOS Beginner's Guide for Whiteout Survival
The most important thing to remember is to keep the timer running! Always be building, training, and researching. Set up your in-game timers and notifications so you never miss a reminder. Now, let’s dive into the beginner’s guide for Whiteout Survival.
Whiteout Survival Beginner's Guide #1: Daily Items!
- Make it a habit to log in every day to collect your Daily VIP Point Rewards. These points help level up your VIP status, and the higher your VIP, the better the rewards you can claim from the chest.
- Another daily login spot is the Campaign—head to the Expedition section and tap the chest in the upper-left corner to claim your rewards.
- Don’t forget to complete your Daily Objectives as well. They’re an excellent way to gather essential resources, boosts, and other valuable goodies.
- Pro tip: Contribute as much as you can to climb the Alliance Daily Donation Rankings—there are some really worthwhile perks waiting for top contributors! This also ensures you stay in a top 3 alliance.
These four daily tasks are simple but crucial, so make sure to complete them every day.
Whiteout Survival Beginner's Guide #2: Training Troops
Here is one thing that you always need more of, TROOPS! Build up your first march full of troops and then start upgrading your troops. Upgrading is extremely important so don't fall behind in this task. It takes a long time to build up your armies so make sure that clock is going. The higher each building is the more troops and longer clock for training troops. Helpful for when you want to get a few hours of sleep. Always have speed ups for upgrading these buildings so troops can continue to be made. Find more details on troop formation and troop ratios in the Best Troop Formation Guide.
Whiteout Survival Beginner's Guide #3: Research, Research, Research
Once the building is unlocked, research is vital! Research helps your troops defense and offense, produce more resources, speeds building and research time plus all sorts of other boosts in the game. You should focus on the Military Technology research first as this is the most important. The Economic Technology can be to help fill in time after military is done. Research times start to be crazy at Furnace 30. Here's a detailed Whiteout Survival Research Guide.
Whiteout Survival Beginner's Guide #4: Join an Alliance
In the beginning it might be intimidating but try to join an alliance ASAP! Finding an active alliance could be a little more difficult but you can do your research and find an alliance that suites your needs. There are so many perks! Joining a top 10 alliance is crucial, joining a top 3 alliance and you'll be getting perks from spenders!
Whiteout Survival Beginner's Guide #5: Building
I think that the best strategy is to rush the Furnace. You might be tempted to keep all the buildings at the same level but you unlock everything based on you furnace level. The other building that I keep up to date is the Command Center and will increase your march capacity. Research Center is important to upgrade and always use speedups so you don't waste important research time building it. We already covered how important research is, right?
Whiteout Survival Beginner's Guide #6 Intel Missions, beasts and Polar Terrors
You don't have to kill real people in this game. This game really rewards you for defeating beasts on the map. Another good point is your troops never die in battles against beasts. They be wounded and need to go to the infirmary, but you never lose troops. Once you join an alliance you can join Rallies and kill Polar Terrors!
Whiteout Survival Beginner's Guide #7: Gathering Resources
Gathering resources will be extremely helpful as you'll need resources for all the upgrades you are doing. Don't be afraid and jump out there and start farming meat, wood, coal, and iron resource points. If you aren't attacking beasts, you should be gathering resources. Having a farm will help when you get to the higher furnace levels.
Whiteout Survival Beginner's Guide #8: Heroes
There are a lot heroes. Upgrading is confusing and there's a lot to it. I would recommend not upgrading the Star Levels (using fragments) until you are sure you know what you want. You won't have the resources to update all of your Commanders. You won't have the resources to upgrade the heroes you want either. Specialize in a couple of them. At the beginning, P2W or F2P can always focus on Jessie, Jasser, Seo-yoon for joining attack rallies. Focus on Patrick and Sergey for joining defensive rallies. Find more on the Best F2P Hero Guide for Whiteout Survival.
Whiteout Survival Beginner's Guide #9: Hero Gear
This is very important part of your power. You need 1 set of mythic gear for infantry, lancer, and marksman heroes. This is 3 full sets. Don't upgrade anything but mythic.
Whiteout Survival Beginner's Guide #10: VIP and Gems
Getting your VIP level to VIP 7 is extremely important as this is when you unlock a free mythic general hero shard. I spent Gems to increase my VIP level and then on the Wheel to unlock the next hero. Learn how to efficiently use Gems in the Gem Spending Guide. Find the best buys in the Shop Guide for Whiteout Survival.
Whiteout Survival Beginner's Guide #11: Saving and Upgrading
Use your speedups, hero shards, essence stones, etc when there is an event happening. This way you get a bonus for everything you do!
These are my top 11 things I wish I knew when I was starting. Do you think something should be added? Let me know.
